The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter Aircraft primarily used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the Second World War. The Tempest was an improved derivative of the Hawker Typhoon. It was one of the most powerful fighter aircraft used in the war and at low altitude it was the fastest single-engine propeller-driven aircraft. The Hawker Tempest enter service in 1944, and performed low-level interception, ground attack supporting major invasions, targeting rail infrastructure and countering attacks from German fighters.
